Why use one app when more apps are... well, more.
Why use one app when more apps are... well, more.
These are a collection of apps where I created either a landscape (ish) scene in Blender. Some have a more watery or jelly like quality than landscape. Some may not even look like they were rendered in a 3D app. These all were, but I've found that while I like the look of 3D rendered scenes, my computer is not quite capable of producing the quality scenes that make me happy.
Working around my computer's limitations, I started playing with methods for controlled degradation in my work. I found that I didn't hate the look of pixellation in pieces, but that it was just a little too predictable. I wanted degradation, but not specifically pixel degradation. I wanted something that was a little more organic. Something that would offer one look when viewed up close and a different view when the viewer pulls back. So I've come up with a process of degrading images with sets of filters and then by splitting the image's channels, messing with each channel, then recomposing them to get to a final image.
Unfortunately, Behance can only show thumbnails of my pieces. To get in and see the detail, follow the links to the zoomable pages for each piece.
Whatcha think?
